I have a '95, 5 speed. w/ the 230/605 plate (#8), 3,000 GSK,

HD exhaust springs, 4" straight pipe (no cat or muffler) and I'm ready for more. I pull a big hay trailer (GVW of 30K+) occasionally and have all my gauges. For $300 that seems like too good of a deal to pass up. Should I go with the bigger TST plate at the same time (#5) or just stick with what I have now? I REALLY like the way the truck runs now... very driveable, no EGT issues, etc. but like I said, I want to crank her up a little more. Being that it's a stick I'm hoping not to have to screw with delivery valves. Thanks guys!

If you add more you're going to have EGT issues. I have a #10 plate with 370's and a 16cm turbo housing to try and keep cool. At higher RPM it doesn't work. I was running a #4 plate and 215 injectors with the 16cm housing and that combo got hot on high RPM runs.

So far I haven't had to screw with the delivery valves on mine.

Think about a clutch too, it won't be long if you add 370's.

The guys at Piers have told me that the #4 and the #10 work beter than the rest with a GSK, FWIW.

Good Luck,

Mike

True the 370's might not be the smoothest in a 160 pump but the truck in question is a 5 speed with a 175 pump and they should be fine in that.

Installed a #8 and 370's in my friends '95 auto recently. The #8 was installed first and slid forward and the egt's were pretty warm. When the 370's were put in we slid the plate back. Pulled a 28' enclosed trailer to Michigan two days later and the egt's never got over 1000*. But the power, OH MY, what a difference! Next: 4GSK!
