Guys, I have a chance to purchase a used plate. It is a BD,what are your thoughts on this plate? It is a 250/630? I have a 96 CTD 4x4 auto,3. 54,stock truck. Thanks for all replies.

The potentional HP/TQ for the plate will depend on what sort of truck it's used in. For example, a TST #12 plate will give you 165/440 in a '94-'95 auto, 190/550 in a '94-'95 manual or '96-'98 auto, and 230/605 in a '96-'98 manual. Other plates vary in a similar way. The pumps and injectors are different so you need to know what combo the rateing is for. A TST #6 plate will give you 250/635 in your truck.

Thank you Joe George for the reply. I will ask the diesel guy more questions as for the year truck this plate was made for and the plate number.

I have a question related to this, my truck is a 95 3500 auto 3:54 gear, 2wd mostly stock, would a TST #6 plate be OK on my trans or is that to much on a stock transmission?

You should be OK with a TST #6 in you truck. It is only 230\605 in your older auto pump. The transmission should be OK. I would recommend gauges if you don't already have them.

See earlier post "Fuel Plate ?" by DieselTim. I got several good pics and a running discussion on what mods to do and how much hp an auto can stand. There are many many good replys. Check it out, I think it will anwser most all of your ?'s.
