I think that if it's a daily driver and you tow very little, a plate would be perfect. They are cheap, easy to install, and give a noticable improvement in the trucks performance. The stock exhaust system is probally the best choice for a daily driver. The aftermarket is littered with exhaust makers for out trucks, unfourtionitly they all have there drawbacks, namely DRONE. If you have a family, I would stay stock on the exhaust. It can really get load in the cab, esspecially when towing. There is a spot that almost everyone has problems with, it is in the 2000-2200 rpm range. I changed over to a 4" exhaust and yes it need help reduce EGT's while towing heavy loads, but even with the quietest muffler the noise got too loud to for a fun and comfortable drive. I spent many hours and a boat load of money to get the noise level back down to an exceptable level, he you or may not want to do the same thing, just be warned.
I installed a TST plate 3-4 months after I purchased my truck, it gave a nice boost to the truck, without causing any un-wanted troubles. You might want to start out with a less agressive plate. The guy's and gal's at TST will be glade to recomend one for you. They also allow you to return the plate for credit on another plate if that is something you would wish to do down the road. They are really good people and have helped me many times, I truely like doing business with them. Good luck and enjoy your truck.
