Im having a bit of a hard time with putting my truck in gear from a dead stop and a little bit when shifting. when the clutch pedel is all the way out i am able

to pull on the pedel and it has a little bit of play i took some pictures (the best i could) If you look on the left of the pictures someone welded the rod

Check the eyelet of the pushrod where it attaches to the pedal. There is supposed to be a nylon bushing there that makes the eyelet on the rod fit snugly on to the clutch arm. I've seen these bushings wear out, and then the metal on metal starts wearing out the eyelet on the rod - elongating it, so there is slack in it.

If that nylong bushing is in place, check the fluid level in the reservoir, and consider bleeding it if pumping the pedal makes the slack less.

The black piece is your clutch interlock switch. It's o. k. if it moves back and forth.

If your slave cylinder was overextended during your transmission replacement it could have damaged the seal or if you're lucky, the slave just needs to be bled.

It sounds like you're not getting full slave cylinder travel and complete clutch dis-engagement. IMHO

If your clutch engages with the pedal real close to the floor and you can pump it up then the linkage has failed. It is a one piece unit. There is no way to bleed it on a 97 (been there). After you have a heart attack from hearing your local dealers price give mopar4less a call.

How long have you had the truck? If you have been driving it for awhile, and just now are having problems with shifting I wouldn't think the weld would be the problem. Also, the new linkage goes all the way to the pedal. No more weld.

if you look in the pictures i took that green washer on the right is loose i can slide it back and forth

Also on the right of the green washer you can see that the rod is a little rusty well when i let the pedel back out the rod becomes a smaller diamiter and kinda falls down about a centameter because it being smaller It just doesnt seem right to me

p. s. is there a part # for a clutch pedel assembly??
