I finally did it!!! It only took a little over a year to happen!!!
I was picking up some concrete storm drains from my local concrete precaster the other day when it happened!!! I was turning around in their concrete yard filled with manholes and septic tanks and isles made for only forklifts to get around in. I was backing around a turn and midded the 4 foot diameter manhole just fine but didn't miss the part of it that stuck out 6 inches further that the manhole and BANG!!!! i felt a clunk and my LAMP OUT light came on in my cluster. I got turned around and went out back to inspect the damage. :{ :{ :{
To my surprise it wasn't that bad only a broken taillight and easily fixable tailgate damage!!! So i pounded the tailgate out with some wood blocks and it looks really good ecept for the chipped paint. That is not what i was worried about though.
I figured sure as heck that tailight was going to cost me at least $200. Went right over to the dealer and got ready to take it in the shorts. But that didn't happen. It only ended up costing me
$90 for the housing, 3 bulbs, and the bulb holder thing which bolts to the lens housing from the back and holds the bulbs.
Now i know that might not be the best price in the world but it was sure a lot less than i thought i would pay!!!
Now the headlights, thats a different story or so I am told from the parts man.
Just sharing a little about my experiences and my life on a saturday morning in Montana. I guess you could catagorize this in the kind of useless information pile
Have a fantastic day to all my fellow Cummins freaks
