Pics can't show worn sockets. Since you are 4X4, start with the track bar and anything else that shows slack or looseness. Also the steering dampner.

What is that in front of the right dually?

I know the Dampner labeled "G" is shot - I can grab it and shake it...

I also know when I am parked and turn the wheel left and right it makes a noise that tells me something is metal to metal loose somewhere. I pops and you can feel it in the steering wheel.

This is my secondary truck but I want to put it to work come January...

I appreciate any help in letting me know what is what here...

btw, you have the stock inverted "y" steering. if you want to upgrade, change over to the 99 HD steering (search here for the part numbers). you will get a better road feel and handling.

also, to test for bad parts, you should start the truck, take it out of gear, set the brake, choke the wheels then have a helper turn the wheel back and forth about 1/8 turn each way while you are under the front end watching all of the ends/links/joints to see if they are wobbly or have any slop. the TREs and such will have some rotation but you should not see the stud end moving relative to the socket. the trackbar end should not move at all, watch the sector shaft (what the pitman arm is attached to on the steering box) to see if it moves sideways before the wheels turn.

that is most likely the trackbar. do the test i mention above to check for any movement at the frame/bar joint

I had it once , I replaced the worn part , which was the track bar and installed a dss on the steering box and it's gone . the first thing I did was the dss and it didn't help . got a friend to watch while I turned the steering side to side and he saw the track bar loose.

please assess my front end

That bump you hear sounds like upper control arm bushings. Just happened to me

sleon.
