I also have this posted in the 991 section, however, this is my home and I hope someone here can help me!

I have a 2003 2500 4x4 HO, with the 48RE trans. My truck had 90,000 miles on it.

I just had the transmission rebuilt and modified with a triple disc TC, shift kit, billet shafts... . Basically the works. I had this done because, my truck id like new @ 90,000 miles, but the trans was cooked. Now that i have it back i am getting a P0700 code off the dash? I also had the dealership scan the truck and they pulled a P0122 code?

The truck drives great, however, I get some VERY strange shifts. Sometimes the truck does not want to shift and looses power for a few seconds while the RPM's keep going up..... Feels like slippage? If I take my foot off the accelerator pedal for a split second, it will shift, and then all is good. It doesn't do it all the time. My truck actually did this before the transmission was rebuilt as well. However, I assumed it was all transmission related. Now that I have had my transmission rebuilt and rechecked by the builder three times, he believes that the trans is fine, and that my problem with the shifts is deeper than the transmission itself. Possibly related to the codes? I know the P0700 is being thrown because of the higher line preasure in the VB, but what is this P0122 code? I can't find anything on it? The dealer said it is a code for the APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor), as well as the Speed Sensor in the trans? I would be willing to try the APPS, but it is $550, and I want to be sure that is the problem first. I have mixed feeling about the APPS being the problem. My idle is fine, it never jumps up and down, all I get is the erratic shifting, and the slippage feeling at full throttle.

I am so upset..... I have spent a lot of money and I still have problems. I need to have this truck running properly ASAP. My family and I have several trips planned this spring and summer, and I can't afford to break down with children (One infant) with me.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!:{

P0122 isn't listed as a diesel engine code, it's listed as a gas engine code. Are you sure it's not P2122, which is the diesel engine equivalent of P0122?

That is what i thought too... . P0122 is correct. You can't pull the code off the dash and it is not listed on the "Trouble Code" list that we see her on TDR. The tech pulled the code and gave me the print out with the description.

I think your tech screwed up, because P0122 is not a 2003 code unless you have a gas engine.

Just because a tech tells you something doesn't mean it's accurate. In fact, in my experience it's usually wrong.

Is the check engine light on? I think you need to get another code reader on it.

Ryan

No, my check engine light never came on. I'm like you, I don't trust the techs either. I will take your advise and get it checked again. My truck is going in for some warranty work on Tuesday. I need a new head gasket... . Man, I never had any trouble with this truck until about 1,000 miles ago. I realize that 90,000 miles it is a point where some maintenance in needed, and I'm cool with it. I just hope that eventually I will be trouble free for many more miles, like I was before?

Thanks!

With the intermittent stuff you have, check the trans control harness where it goes down the back of the firewall and along the top of the trans. There are some sharp edges and seams that will rub the harness and bare a wire causing all kinds of weird and unusual events.

FYI, it is a total pain to find the rubbed wires and you almost have to disconnect it and pull it out into decent light to see the damage which may very minimal.

Place to start anyway, good luck.
