Yes you should put one in, probably along with a couple other gauges that DC left out.

Under the hood is ok, but dang inconvenient to check while driving under load. ;)

gauges an such

Yes,

A fuel press. gauge will be your best friend! Along with say a boost ,EGT and a transmission temp. gauge if you have a slushbox.

The banjo bolt from Geno's has tapped 1/8 npt female threads and makes hookup of the fuel pressure line to the sender or gauge so much easier. I went with a mechanical FP gauge on my current truck after having problems with the electrical sender on my other truck. Do some reading on this and you'll get a better idea as to what best fits your needs.

Go with a gauge that has an isolator like the diprocol that way you don't have to worry about a fuel leak inside the cab (you will never get that smell out if it leaks). You can also avoid the banjo bolt thing by tapping into the injector pump directly. There is a fitting similar to an air conditioning service hose that you can attach to to get a rock solid reading right off the pump (which is where you need to know your pressure anyways). Good luck and enjoy 24 valving:D

Here's the attachment method HOSS refers to:

And here's the method I used to mount the Westach fuel pressure sender:

Good luck!

I too went with mechanical as I took out 3 sending units in 4 months. Check with the manufacterers of the isolators... . I know the Autometer isn't compatible with diesel, maybe others are. I just used braided stainless covered teflon hose and put blue locktight on the threads... . unless the gauge has a catastrophic failure I will not need to worry about fuel in the cab. Later:)

With the 24 valve you want a fuel pressure gauge.

I as long as you are adding things I would add a boost gauge and an EGT gauge.

As for the fuel pressure I would get an electric gauge. I have the SPA gauges but they are a little expensive.
