Buddy of mine has a '99 3500 that was dogging out real bad, I am figuring lift pump. We pulled it into the shop and changed the fuel filter just for giggles and and tried the real test. Failed- It won't refill the filter housing. We cycled the key to the start position momentarily to try to get it to fill 3 or 4 times, then we tried just cranking on it, no luck. I removed the lift pump and bench tested it, by running a hose into a jug of fuel, priming it and then running it. Still nothing.

Convinced that the pump is bad leads me to my next question- Can a non-filtering F. A. S. S. pump be used to get rid of the Factory style lift pump all together. The truck has no mods yet, but this will be the first of many. The plans are in this order, F. A. S. S. , 4" exhaust, guages, air intake, chip, turbo, injectors.

We aren't looking to build a pulling truck or anything just a trailer hauling toy. Will the 90 gph pump be enough to accomodate the future mods named above?

Thanks in advance -Nicholas

I run the Carter 4601hp as a pusher. I don't' run a stock lift pump. It died and I installed the Carter.

It's rated for 14-16 psi and 100 gph. So far it's been fine with the mods in my sig.

It's wired to turn on using a signal from a switchable hot in the engine compartment. It makes filter changes, bleeding, troubleshooting super easy.

yes the FASS pump can be run without the lift pump we just put one on a 01 did away with the lift pump and ran through the stock filter. 24 lbs FP at idle can pull down to 18 lbs with the mods that we have on the truck.
