I would like hear from anyone that plowed snow with a stick shift truck? How hard is it? Would you advise it?:rolleyes:

cgoder,

it's ok to plow with your manual. The trick is to make sure that you don't slip the clutch too much. Cause if you do you'll be changing that thing real quick. I've found that when I plowed with a stick, I either used 2 low(had locking hubs) or 4 low. That keeps you from sliping too much. Also keeps you from building too much speed up and breaking something when you hit it.

Thanks for response. I have heard that it is a real pain in the butt. I would like to buy a stick but I know that I will be plowing this winter if we get snow. :--)

ETH-DEE/PLOW

I transfered the plow from my '98 to the new truck... . first truck i've owned with the stick/plow combo. I figure i'll do more trailering than plowing the way the last few winters have gone. :{

The trouble with using the low range is that reverse is so slow. I'd use 4 hi in the lower gears.

Also, if you could set up the blade controls on the stick, it would make life easier.
