I install them several places, if your real careful with harness mounting it can go under the driver's seat. Remove the door sill (plastic along the rocker panel that covers the edge of the carpet).

Carefully push a small stick or a couple a rachet ext. under the carpet until you get under the seat and cut a careful "x" in the carpet with a razor blade. Assure that you don't nick any wires running along the floor pan. Send the wires thru the hole and along the rocker until they poke out through the carpet where it ends at the firewall. Feed the wires through the firewall and out into the engine compartment. This works with the remote to the RJ 11 jack wire s/b long enough to allow for dash mounting.

I've also used velcro ties to strap it to the bottom of the hood latch handle bracket. .

Or tied it up under the kick panel along a a heavy bundle of wires etc. .

Remove the kick panel. . you have lots of options if you want it outta sight. I would at least leave the front of the box with the on/off switch and diagnositic led's visible with out having to remove the kick panel, while peering up under the dash and laying on your back ("hidden" installation, behind kick panel).

Others have fabbed up a small bracket similiar to a brake controller bracket to mount it externally on the kick panel. I like a clean unclutter dash, but that's my opinion, so be creative if you like.

Bottom line, make sure the harness is long enough if you are getting very far from the kick panel/steering column area.

Good luck

Andy
