I agree with Bob regarding the 180° thermostat—from Cummins. You could probably get a 190° thermostat from Cummins also.

If you're still looking for the 190° thermostat from Mopar, check out P/N 5015708AA. It is the only thermostat listed in my model year 2000 Mopar parts catalog. I believe model year 2000 Cummins/Rams came with 190° thermostats.

Why am I better off with the 180? I'm not pulling heavy in the summer and my temps aren't that high anyway. Also, I've got little or no heat :{ , radiator completely covered and it barely hits 180-190 with 760lbs in bed and snowblade on the front running 65mph. Ya think my old t-stat is just bad?

I'm not opposed to running a 190 in the winter, and changing to a 180 in the summer, looks like a 10 minute job. Or do I even need to mess with it every year?

Mopar number...

Clay, I just got one a few months ago, Mopar #05015708AC. Don't always assume that a Cummins dealer will always be less. Local Cummins guys around here all wanted around 50 bucks. Local Dodge dealer did it for around 25 bucks, with a good guy discount. A 180 stat will give you even less heat.

I just replaced my antifreeze and T-stat, Genuine Cummins part # is

3946849 (190deg. ) right off the box.

Hope this helps.
