I would like some help from the members here. I had the idea for these pneumatic running boards for about eight years and finally got a chance to put them together. They automatically drop when the door is open and retract when the door is closed. I have had a lot of people tell me I should start making them but there is a lot to do before they could go into production. That's where you come in. Do you think they would sale with a retail of between $1,250 and $1,500 including an onboard electric air compressor and tank, or $750- $1,000 without a compressor for those that already have one. THIS IS NOT AN OFFER FOR SALE. I just want to find out how much interest there is before I spend a lot of time and money developing these. TIA

I use $200 nerfs. They protect the rockers and I go through a couple sets a year.

That being said:

How much weight will they support ???

Being at the high end of the running boards there probably would not be a huge market for just the RAMS so you would have to mfg for the Fords also.

Good luck

:)

Running boards... good idea... . air compressor... great idea... depends on how big of air compressor it is and how easy it is for the buyer to install and hook up air horns to it would also be a good selling point. . $1500 for it though... ouch. . It would be tough to put that much into it but if the air compressor was a really good one and could run air tools too, plus easy install would make it worth while since I've seen threads about guys trying to find places to put an air compressor and such.

Would there be a market... yes... tough one, but I agree that it would have to be for all the big three, otherwise I don't think you'd see enough interest in it for that price.

Question: How does it put it down? Looking at the two pictures it looks it moves down and out from the truck.

Question: How much weight can it handle?

Question: How wide is the step?

Good luck.
