How Many of you regularly carry a pocket clip Knife?

What brand do you prefer?

I carry a Benchmade right now but also have spidercos, Cold steels, & Kershaws.

I've got an Ernest Emerson limited edition , Close Quarters Battle folder with a pocket clip. One of only 200 made. It was a Christmas present from a great friend(even if he's 12 valves shy of a full engine. :D heehee). Easily my favorite knife. I hate to carry it, because of it's collector's value, and because it was a gift from a friend, but it was made for use, not sitting in a drawer... had a close call recently that made me start carrying again...

I also have two Benchmade/Emerson SpecWar CQB -7's, one with a 4" blade.

I have an assortment of spyderco knives, i am currently carrying a ken onion design kershaw with the "assisted opening" that is just too cool

I used to carry Gerber, but as hard as I am on knives the most durable and easy to sharpen is my S&W SWAT knife. I like the feel of it and the cost is reasonable.

don't carry a pocket clip anymore,,,have one in my truck along with my Shrade multi-tool.

I carry a two blade Kershaw pocket knife most of the time, its a little smaller and easier to carry in my pocket, don't have much use to carry a larger knife for protection or anything and the smaller kershaw doe the trick.

I do have a Benchmade clip, a Gerber, and god knows how many other knives. I love pocket knives and can't pass up a good deal when I see one... . '

I carry a Benchmade Emerson CQC-9. My wife got it for me for x-mas about 3 years ago, and I've carried it since. It supposed to be a collector (long discontinued) but mine is too used to be worth anything. :D I wish I had another :(

I also have a cheapo CKRT (Cloumbia river knife & Tool) #6713 I carry. I got these so cheap that I bought a bunch and gave them out as stocking stuffers last year. Unbelieveable quality for the $$$. Theyre the Hammond design.

The S&W SWAT knifes are an excellent buy too.

Kershaw working good for me

I got a Kershaw pocket clip, dont know the model number or anything, my dad was at a local propane and gas store and seen a big box of pocket knifes. Asked the sales lady how much they were and she said 4. 99 a piece. My dad bought 9 of them. Gave 3 to me, kept 3 for himself and has 3 in reserve, seen the same knife in walmart a week later for 49. 99. Thats a good deal in my book.

I carry a Benchmade/Emerson CQC-7. I went for the -7 instead of the longer -9 because I could carry the -7 onto airplanes and such. Well, that is no longer a concern, is it! :( I don't go ANYWHERE without my knife. I have the tension set up on mine such that a quick flick of the wrist, and the blade is out and locked... .

Now that you can't carry a knife on board an airline, I might upgrade to a longer blade. But, the Benchmade's are spendy. I have found the Columbia River Knife and Tool knives quite nice, especially for the price. Maybe I'll get one at the next gun show...

I couldn't help noticing over the last couple of years that many (maybe most) of the members love guns, knives and engines of all kinds. I normally have a Benchmade folder with a 4" tanto blade in my pocket. I have a collection of Randall knives in many shapes and sizes as well as a pretty good assortment of guns.

I carry a Gerber E-Z Out. The only complaint that I have with it is that it does not hold an edge.

Does the Emerson hold a good sharp edge?

LOL, Doc. I was thinking the same about Buck Knives, guess we are a bit antiquated.

Any of you guys know anything about "Bronks" custom knives?

The owner knife maker is moving to our area and is going to do knife making classes. Sound like it would be an interesting thing to do.

I don't carry a decent knife--my specialty is losing any knife I get near.

I used to carry a Spyderco. I now carry a small plastic boxcutter with the breakoff tips made in China purchased from Walmart. Comes in package of 2, one large, one small for $1. 12. Found it to be far more useful for things I usually would need a knife for. Would make a good defensive weapon too if that's what you carry a knife for. A few years ago a guy here got sent to the hospital in critical condition after being sliced from the shoulder to abdomen with a boxcutter. The guy he was chasing suddenly turned around and swung the boxcutter. In early Nov. 2001, I had it in my carryon bag and got on 5 flights from Honolulu to Columbus OH and back and it never got detected. Gives me real confidence in our security systems. This was less than 2 months after 9/11, when security was supposed to be very high.

Kershaw Ken Onion Blackout

A little pricey, but all you have to do is touch the pin with your thumb and the blade flips out. Closest thing to a switch-blade.

I have one of the Ken Onion style. I like the easy flip out but I can't get mine to hold an edge! It might have something to do with cutting drywall, plastic and small wires ;-)
