Has anyone got any experience using the pocket dyno that Geno sells? Does it work? How accurate is it? Any info appreciated.

I just got mine a couple of days ago. Only played with it on the commute to/from work. Good grief, people sure look at you funny when you keep pulling over and then doing 0-60mph merges back into traffic... !

It's a pretty cool little box, but I can't speak for accuracy. Seems right from what I can tell, and the principals on which it operates are elegantly simple. Accelleration over time. That's it. Now I just need to get on a scale with a full tank of fuel so I can ballpark the HP ratings.

And I can tell that my bone-stock 2001 is going to need a few toys so we can improve the numbers...

For $130 you can't have much more fun. And if you charge your PowerChoke buddies $10 for each time they borrow it, it'll pay for itself soon enough!

It's a neat gadget!

I got mine the other day from Geno's. My stock

Ram does 0 to 60 in about 13 secs, and my 2001

GMC Yukon XL (Suburban) with the new big-block

8. 1 (496 cubes!) with 4:10 gears did it in under

9 seconds. I have yet to weigh either one at a

truck stop. You need to know the exact weight to

get an accurate horsepower readout. From what

I have read they are amazingly accurate.

Although they look like you could never trust them, I bought one about a year ago.

My readings are within 2 percent of what the dyno said... I would say thats darn close. Besides, its a fun toy!

Were you able to see your gas guage go down too?;)

I have been looking at gettting a yukon or a tahoe

Try to find a lonely stretch of road. If there are many homes near by be prepared for a lot of strange looks as you go back and forth under full power!
