So, I installed the new injectors, along with a new Colt Bumpstick, ATS exhaust manifold, BullyDog exhaust kit, Southbend clutch, NV4500, front seal, etc, etc. When I first bled the lines and fired it off, it didn't want to run. I thought I still had air in the lines, so I bled the injector lines a little more, but it still idled really low, say 300-350 rpm. Is that just the POD injectors? I've never installed upgraded injectors in a 1st gen, but in all the later models, I've never noticed any drastic differences in idle speed. This is the first 1st gen cam, so is the longer compression cycle affecting it that much?
I will say, I bumped up the idle, and when I went to drive it,... ... . WOW!!! I had to drive it again this morning before sunup. I think I'm in love with this old truck again!! It's always felt like it was "working" to get down the highway. It's not smooth like some of the other trucks I've owned. And mileage was pretty dismal. Now it feels like it wants to run away, kinda like my first '96. It's really smooth, easy on the throttle, and just jumps up and snaps to it.....
Anyway, anyone got a thought on that? Thanks,
