OK guys I need some info if possible. Just installed my gauges and a 16cm housing. How much boost should I see and should I turn the power screw up now or wait till I install the POD'S? Also was wondering after I adjsut the power screw do I reinstall the lock collar? Last but not least I looked at my power screw and the locking collar is rigt at the end wit no threads showing, is this normal or has somebody adjusted it already?

Thanks John

If it was me, and it was at one point, I would wait on the power screw adjustment until you install the POD's. They flow a group more and will give you a noticable improvement. You can then adjust the screw for more.

The lock collar will not be able to be put back on when you turn in the power screw unless you trim it down. But why would you want to? The lock nut is what secures the power screw into place.

My truck had no threads showing either. I just used it as a base mark setting incase I need to go back to stock configuration for troubleshooting problems. :D

Try to either mark or draw your base settings and file it away. You never know when it may come in handy.

The power screw being up to the lock collar doesn't necessarily mean that someone has tweaked it already.

With only the housing swap, you should see around 15psi boost and 900 deg F (pre turbo) max. If you're planning on getting the POD's anyway, don't adjust the power screw yet. The POD injectors alone will give you more fuel than you'd be able to get by turning in the power screw with the factory injectors.

If you do decide to turn in the power screw, you most likely will not be able to re-install the lock collar. It is tack welded on. Some come off easy and others (like mine) require a good dose of swearing, grinding and cleaning up of the threads.

Cheers,

Sean

formula those numbers right? What are factory output numbers in the psi department? I got (see sig line) with nothing but exhaust and intake. dont have pyro in yet.

Interesting... ... ... A gain of over 10 psi just from an exhaust system and a better air filter. You must have more than stock fueling coming from somewhere. FWIW, when I did mine similar to yours, I had a 14cm housing, 3. 5" exhaust, and some pump tweaking and it still only got to about 20psi.

Oh, stock boost pressure runs about 13psi.

interesting indeed, the pump still has the little plug on top, I have not touched it, and i doubt the PO did. I did not have a pressure gauge in before the exhaust and intake. Still h1c 18. 5 housing. This is the second gauge both read the same, but the first the lighting was messed up.

Maybe factory 230hp pump? ha ha

What kind of hp and tq is the 25 psi area?

Thanks for the info guys. Rightnow I am running approx 19 to 20 psi boost and 1000 deg on the pyro at full throttle. As you have advised I will wait for the screw adj till after the POD'S. What a difference the 16cm housing:D :D :D Oo. Oo. Oo.

I'm with formula here... . your boost is normally in/around the 13-15psi range with a "stock" setup.....

You can pretty much bet that someone has been into the pump OR you have an uprated injector in there now... .

25psi is too much for a system that has not had: injectors or pump work done.

Especially with an h1c ... ...

Last, wait for the Lucas to go in, like the guys say... . you might find you'll have other issues to consider once they're in..... for example some smoke or temp issues.....

The only reason I mention this is because it really does sound like there has been some pump tweaking done already... and BTW, that little cap can come off and on without showing any signs of tampering... finally the lock collar almost always shows at least one or two threads on the end. We have 5 brand new ones in the shop and they show some thread. You can tease the lock collar backwards by puttting a 13mm combo wrench on the locknut, and a 6mm 1/4" ratchet on the screw end and crank the locknut back against the lock collar,,,, eventually it will hop back a couple threads and still look stock/intact. .
