Well, I bought a set of PODS. Still need the adaptors, I'll get them later. Just seeing if anyone has any advise or tips on removing the old injectors and installing the new one? I have a bunch of service manuals, but there is always something they don't tell you. And I know we always come up with new ideas to make something better etc. As far as what I might need, copper washers pn for the fuel drain manifold/return, dust seals pn, I know about antiseize for the threads. What about a injector bore brush? Any helpful ideas appreciated. TIA, Bill

I got a 5/8" plumber's brush to clean out the area the body sits in. Clean it out real well, esp the bottom of the bore, where it seals. Then blow the be-geezes out of it with an air pistol. I think the torque is around 44ft-lbs. Some of the guys who have done HGs and gotten the kit may have some adaptors lying around. In a pinch, you can reuse the copper horsehoes for the return lines, but wouldnt recommend it as a premanent deal. Be careful of the injector lines, remove all the blue spacers, clip thingies, and carefuly move the lines out of the way. They will flex a certain amount. Retaining nut takes a 24mm deepwell.

Watch your EGTs- they will climb high and fast with no intercooler.

Bill,

I'm no expert, but I recently changed mine and it was real easy.

I used a simple home made puller... look in my reader's rigs for a picture... . They all came out easy with this and they were rusted in pretty good.

I re-used all the return line copper horseshoes... . no leaks.

A bore cleaning brush for a 9mm/. 38 also works good for cleaning the holes out.

Be prepared to adjust your idle afterwards... mine went up about 100 + rpm.

Good luck and have fun.

i use a 12 gauge shotgun bore brush to clean them out, i bought the whole cleaning kit at wally world for about 9 bucks.
