Has anyone else had this occur?

Before the new injectors/pump timing my water temp never quite reached the first "mark". Now my "normal" temp is the middle of the guage. (a little bit higher when cruising at 80-90 w/ac on).

Any ideas?

A coolant system flush/change is on the short maintainance list.

If you are cruising at 80-90 your temps will definately be higher. :D I noticed that my temps were only higher when towing up a long hill they will creep up there.

Speed Demons

 I can't figure out how in the world you guys trucks can run 90+mph. Before the GV Overdrive, my truck would go 85mph, foot on the floor, now I don't know how fast my truck will go. Last time I tried, I backed off when the speedo was about a 1/4" past 100mph. Too fast for me. ;)

H2O temp

Oh, by the way XGoldman, I never noticed an increase in water temp. with the POD's. However when I had the radiator cleaned out this winter and replaced the thermostat, my gauge went from always at the second mark to the cycling action like dad's '96. I think that I saw the gauge at the third mark one time since I've had the truck (2 years), then the fan clutch kicked in and cooled things off.

If there is a lot of scale built up in your radiator like mine was, taking it to a shop and having them boil it out will probably make a difference.

Just my . 02$

Thanks for the input guys.

I have got to pull the front clip off the truck to repair the cowl cracks so I may pull the radiator as well (maybe I'll tab the KDP while I'm in it that far).

I figured that my temps would be a bit higher on the interstate as 80mph is about 2000-2100rpm w/auto & 3:54 gears (Gotta check into GV Overdrive)

Low RPM's

Just to let you know XGoldman, that GV is expensive I won't lie, especally by the time you get two new driveshafts made up.

I will say this in 5th over (9th gear) 3. 54 rears, 70mph~1700rpm's, 80mph~1850rpm's, 90mph~2000rpm's:D

Thanks for the info. I assumed that they weren't cheap. The cool stuff NEVER is. But I was hoping that the overdrive would yield more of a reduction in my setup. (only 250-300 less RPM than my stock setup) I always thought that I would eventually put an overdrive in, but the $$$/RPM ratio is making me reconsider.
