Installed A set of PODs Last night. They really made a difference 27psi boost egts up a bit tho about 75-100 deg. Pulls bunches harder from the bottom. I had to increase my idle a bit tho. My pump is at pretty much at stock settings (smoke screw in 1/2 turn). Now I need to look into transmission mods (My auto is still stock). Has anybody swapped in a 5 speed in place of the auto? Was going to look for a 2nd gen in a wreaking yard for the pieces. I want to go with a NV4500 kinda figured I would steer away from the Getrag (or is that gernade)
 
Good to hear that you are happy with your new injectors. I don't know how the auto to NV4500 conversion is, but I am very happy with the NV4500.



You didn't happen to order two sets of POD's did you? I know a guy that might want to try a set out. :rolleyes: :D

I could only afford one set, the checkbook is screaming in agony:{ as it is right now. But the results are worth it. I walked away from some smarta-- Kid and his chevy at a stoplight this afternoon. I am not getting much smoke whis is kinda good since I am running stock exhaust.

Glad you like the POD's. . they do make a nice blast upward don't they...



You can probably tweak your diaphram a bit too. That will help a bit more, and still keep you in the safe range for EGT's and transmission life. Do regular service to it, oil, bands, pressure check etc.



You've got a bit of room to move with the transmission and exhaust, even the stock one.

Try idle settings of about 800-825 in "P"

I like the idle running around 750 in "D". When the AC comes on it drops to about 725 RPM, which is about right.

Standard Transmission in Fort Worth TX has a kit to put the NV in place of a gutrag. FWIW there is an 89-93 bellhousing on EBAY now.
 
Congrats on the POD club membership! Now my question is, what happend to all of the complaints about smoke? The only thing holding me back from getting those things other then $$ is that tons of smoke out of my daily driver with less then 500hp is just against my religion :D I am running the 12 housing, which I already know will be overkill, but I am ready to rock with a 16 if need be... shoot right now max boost with just a tinkered with pump is a lil' over 27lbs. If your timing hasn't been advanced, and you don't have any smoke at idle, that really might push me over the edge :rolleyes::-laf

I am running stock timing and only see smoke when I am really getting on it even then it is not to obnoxious. And just a tiny bit on cold startup. ;)
