to think, all I needed was the answer to a simple question. and some smart *#@ has to pipe in. . you would think he had something better to do, like finish putting the stripes on his half done truck...

I always have some Prep Solv, or more commonly known as "Wax & Grease Remover". Napa sells in qts or gals. Comes in handy for your situation, or its intended purpose of thoroughly cleaning/prepping the surface for refinish or decal application. Also works to remove the glue when pulling decals or emblems.

I used that black magic trim shine. make the trim shiny too.

See issue 43, good article on detailing, dish soap and a toothbrush was recommended. Never tried it, but sounds like a plan. I use Mother's Back to Black, it's pretty good.

Don't you have some peanut butter in the house? It works. Its cheap. And it has other uses too. Get you some Klasse and you want have to worry about the handles or any trim turning white. Heres one place that sells it

This is another reason I'll probably get the billet door handles. FWIW, I used my 2400psi pressure washer with a 15 degree tip, about 1. 5" from the trim, just far enough to not damage it, but close enough to blast everything out of the nooks and crannies. Then I put some wet tire shine on a rag and wiped all the trim with that. Seemed to keep it looking like new for about 2-3 months, and it only takes < 5 min to do. I like the pencil eraser idea, though, will have to try that.

Colman white gas works great for wax and more leaves the plastic looking like new. Best of all we almost all have some lying around the house and 2nd it's cheap. Been using it for 15 years now never had any problems.
