So I had to go see Shrek 3 this weekend.

All the main characters in the beginning are involved in interspecial marriages and derive traits from both. One of the characters that helps "save the day". Is a cross dressing male. Great stuff they are pushing on the kids these days.

I went and saw Spiderman 3 last weekend. Pretty good flick. It actually has a good moral. Everyone has choices to make, make the good choice. Seems kind of silly that stuck in my head, but I'm glad that it was there.

That is the way the Devil works, he hides the little things to inch his way into your lives.

I saw it last night, I didn't think the interspecial marriage thing was a big deal, Disney has been doing that for years. The cross-dressing male made me cringe everytime though.

Ever seen "Happy Feet"? It's the kids movie about a tap-dancing penguin. There are some not-so-subtle shots at religion and they portray humans as the evil fish killers who just take everything for themselves.

I love falling asleep in my recliner with my 3 year old on my lap, but there has to be better movies than that out there. Cars is a good one.

As do our Middle Eastern "friends" about whom I am not supposed to comment on so as not to inflame their wrath or put down their religion. Chip away a little at a time on the foundation, and someday the whole building will crumble. I have yet to see either movie- waiting for them to rent on DVD, but I agree that a lot of things get politicized today that are supposed to be kid friendly. What ever happened to the old westerns and cop shows/ movies, where the good guys won, the bad guys got theirs, and no clothes came off?

Daniel

Denny, Let's smoke them and they'll taste like ham! We could smoke them twice. Once to get them to stay still and once to flavor them! LOL:-laf:-laf

The "cross dressing male" is an ugly step sister from cinderella and I guess I really dont see why interspecies relationships and breeding are an issue after all isnt it impossible for a human being to cross breed with another species? I believe the two species you are refering too are the donkey and the dragon and im pretty sure dragons dont exist. I didnt think the movie was very good or at least as good as the first two but it is a fairy tale you know, make believe.

It's also marketing - I've noticed that most of the "kids" movies these days have lots of humor in there for the parents. That way if the parents enjoy the movie, they are more likely to purchase all of the toys, clothes and other licensed propoganda from the movie.

I personally found that alot of the adult type issues (i. e. crossdressing) are over the head of most kids, and they don't even realize that it's different. However I concur that sometimes they go a little too far... . but again that's the marketing end of it.
