Mine's black and while it looks great at dusk, well, never again. it's either muddy/dirty or washed with tons of scratches. the paint is rediculously thin. how about light pewter metallic dodge? i guess driftwood/silver or intense blue next time around.
FLAME RED---Is there any other color that says Dodge just by looking at it... ... . Andy
P. S-How stupid is DC for dropping the two most sought after colors recently,Intense Blue is the most recent and Orange Fire Metallic earlier before it really got going,,Oh and one other DC debacle, how in the world do you offer a wild color like Solar Yellow in 99 and not make it available to us diesel guys,BAD DC very bad... ... .....
Flame red baby, nothing like 20 feet of red paint 5 feet up in the air to get those little ricer cars to move out of the stinking fast lane. Then again, it sure does attract the chp Where was that thread about what your trucks name is, i think im going to change it to the big red ticket machine. (then again the whole problem could be the ****ole behind the wheel
I ordered a white truck simply because white never goes out of style and it always looks fresh. White is great for hidding any slight imperfections in the sheet metal panels. I must admit I like two of the three primary colors, that is white and red, black is way to difficult to keep clean. Just a thought!!!
My 2500 4x4 ETH/DEE is an Intense Blue Sport. I had to order it because nobody had that combo. But it sure turns heads and gets comments because of the color.
Every truck I have owned has been black, exept for my Wife's truck (green). I know they are easily dirty and hot, but NOTHING looks better (to me), especially in the rain.
Nothing looks better to me than a clean black truck with a little chrome on it to break it up... ... but I don't have the force of will to own one! Besides-I've seen black trucks out here in the wilds of the 'patch-doesn't take long and they start looking poor. I could take you around mine and show you a few dings and scratches-but to the guy who doesn't know what he's looking for it still looks pretty! Can you call an 8500 lb. smoke belching monster pretty?
What's up in the world of compression there me4osu? Very little new up here-except we had the hottest weather last week I've ever seen in June. Thursday I saw 42C on the truck thermometer while moving -even factoring in a little error that's still hot! Poor old Ajaxes had their tongues hanging out-but they all ran through it which surprised the heck out of me. We're short of gas-just like everyone else in the world so our 2nd stage discharge temps get screaming hot-still within design temps for the coolers and valves but not a great situation nonetheless. Not much we can do-grin and bear it and hope the old earthshakers keep lumbering along... ... .
We usually have quite a bit of fat in the cooler heat duties for our rental fleet, so our units aren't having much problem with the heat. However, our acquisition units have a few cooling problems.
Vibration is another issue... . I just finished running fft analysis on five of our units. Three problems and two follow up tests from some dampening efforts. I have three more to do when I get back to Houston, along with a BUNCH of customer revamps. We are very busy, but our stock price is not doing squat. Go figure.
Hope you enjoy your brief respite from bitter cold. As far as how black trucks look after being in the patch awhile, I agree. I always park upwind, so when we vent a unit, I won't get condensate on the rig. Also, I wax the crap out of it, and my employer pays for wash jobs.
Light Driftwood (Darker Silver) and absolutely love it. After reading one of the posts from another member where he showed us pictures of his with the sun shining on it and the various colors reflecting in the paint, I just had to have that color.
My wife's car is a '99 Stratus that is a darker Silver.
You can have any color you want, as long as it's black
All black Sport here... . it's my third truck to have the all-black look ... (correct technical term for bumpers painted body color is "monochrome", and it seems to have started in Europe quite a long time ago)
Well, black was my dad's favorite color for trucks, so it's sort of a family thing. I don't care how often I got to wash it, I never get tired of looking at it. Even if the paint quality suggests it was applied in St. Louis by a stoner that got fired the week before from MAACO ... ...
But I've got to the point where I'll take any color as long as it's got that Cummins under the hood.
