I've had way better luck with my Chrysler electronics vs new Ford stuff. The Chrysler components have always seemed more intuitive and easy to use.......haven't even cracked the owners manual for anything on my dodges electronics.

I cannot compare the UConnect to other electronics on other vehicles because I have not driven enough other vehicles to say, but I can compare it to the past generation of electronics, i.e., a radio.

I like a radio that does not need time to boot up. Point goes to old radio

I like a radio where the controls always work with no delays or glitches. Point goes to old radio.

I like a radio that has real buttons that I can feel for and press without having to take my eyes off the road. Point goes to old radio.

I like real knobs and sliders for climate control. I do not like the "auto" climate control blowing cold air on me in the wintertime because it thinks I am too hot. I do not like having to press a button (or two buttons) repeatedly to change temperature by a few degrees when I used to be able to do it instantly with a manual slider. Point goes to old style climate controls.

The backup camera is a welcome feature over an old radio. Point to UConnect.

Hands-free phone is great. Point to UConnect.

The "apps" would be more welcome if they worked more often. I'd say they work for me without fuss about 10% of the time. The rest of the time I have to restart the UConnect app on my phone or log off then back on, or just forget about it and listen to something else. And, of course, due to the boot up time, the problem is never apparent until I am on the road and unable to safely do anything about it. No points for anyone.

The screen in front of the driver may have some useful information but most of it is not necessary. The TPMS system is nice except you cannot change the alarm points. Most of the other information is not necessary most of the time, at least mot for me. I'm not giving anyone points for this one.

Getting away from UConnect and speaking about the electronics in general, too much flows through the computer. There is a delay when blowing the horn (and you cannot "tap" the horn, only a full blast). There are delays for other things, such as turning on the wipers too soon after starting the engine. I much prefer real switches directly controlling real devices (or via relays or modules) vs everything running through the bus to a computer that cannot seem to manage it all effectively.

All the fancy electronics seemed okay at the time but, in hindsight, I was happier with the old-style electronics and controls. Some of the older-style controls are available in the lower trim levels but then you have to do away with some of the nice things of the upper trim levels.
