6.0 or Duramax in a DODGE Poll

Diesel Fuel Prices June 9-16

How many Ford and GM guys do you think would still buy a Ford or GM but instead of the Powerstroke being on the door and engine, a "Navistar Diesel" was there, and instead of Duramax being on the door, "Isuzu" was on the door?

We all know Cummins makes our Cummins, and the name sells itself, but do you think Ford/GM owners would buy it if the engine maker's name was on it, not some fancy selling name?

I won't include the Duramax cause it was a joint venture between Isuzu and GM, but how about the PSD?

i don't think sales would change on the ford end if they called it navistar. if you called it international it might gain some sales [many do not know navistar = international]

them new 6. 0'shat's out there would look kinda neat with the vt365 badge on the door instead of the powerstroke one

now in the gm end, hard to say... would the izuzu badge increase or decrease sales???

Maybe the Dmax should be called the "Gisuzum" or "GMisuzu"

Powerstroke is part of an engine cycle, Duramax is a contraction of Durability Maximum. Cummins is... an engine manufacturer. Who would have thought to use the ACTUAL engine company's name!

As for International I believe they would sell more. More farmers know the International name.

different strokes for different folks... it takes all kinds... etc.

some buyers don't want to know where everything comes from, they just want something that's Ford Tough or built Like A Rock

the Cummins buyer is obviously a more discerning buyer who knows what he/she wants... the best... many Cummins owners left Ford or Chevy to come to Dodge JUST for the Cummins engine.

like I said, it takes all kinds... how else would you explain the fact that Pontiac continues to sell vechicles?

You must have a real fear of meeting people that drive Fords:rolleyes: Some of you Dodge Cummins guys would feel right at home by dumping a big load of sand in the back of your trucks and then throw in a couple tonka trucks, then play to your hearts content. at least until you get tired and then it's nappy time where you can dream about how smart you are for dirving a "Dodge Cummins" and how stupid and lame those "Ford Powerstoke" owners are.

You know come to think of it a "Sand Box" option for the new Dodge Cummins would probably be a hot seller. :D :--)

I agree with different strokes for different folks. There are good and bad in all of Detroits trucks. Give me brand F's front lockout hubs and leafsprings and then make it handle like brand C. But as far as a powerplant is concerned I can't figure for the life of me why anyone would buy either of the V8's except for brand loyalty!!!

Tell us Dodge owners that it is not lame to go keep buying the same truck (6. 0) over and over when the first one breaks down before 10,000 miles and is bought back. Go to TDS and read all about it. That is lame!

Now we all know that the Cummins is not the best due to it not having a catchy selling name, but because it is the best no matter what it's called, and that's exactly why Cummins does not need a catchy jingle type name to sell, people already know it.

How many Dodge commercials have you seen on TV that actually are trying to sell a Cummins powered Dodge? One for me!

And how many Ford commercials have you seen promoting the PSD, including the stupid refrigerator one? Tons!
