I have no use for a short bed full size pickup. Bad move not offering it in an 8'bed. I'm sure in a few years it will be.

i haven't seen the mega cab, but i'm sure it would increase wheelbase. DC needs to figure out to make these trucks turn tighter - my quadcab longbed is shorter than the ford's largest cab/fullbed truck and the ford turns 2 feet tighter in turning radius

I'm calling BS on this statement. I know for a fact that my 01 has a tighter turning radius than the new Furds!!!! And I seriously doubt that the 3rd Gens have a worse turning radius than the 2nd gens!

I guess to satisfy everybody they'll have to make a fully articulated 40 ft. long, 6 door Mega cab/w 8 ft. bed with a turning radius of 12 ft, with AWD tandem rear axles and dual turbo 12 cylinder CTD that gets 50 MPG and still fits in a standard length garage, come to think about it, I'll buy one too!!! Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Hmmm... ... I'm inspired... ..... I'll start building it tomorrow :p Can I fudge just a bit and put 4 turbos on though :D

I think it's ugly. It looks like they didn't think it through. Looks like the local limosine shop did it. Plus no long bed. How are they going to compete with F and C with no long bed. Especially in a dually. This things the same wheel base as my '04 QC LB. Not sure what they were thinking.

i own a short bed and would probably never buy an 8 footer, but i do feel dodge is limiting their market share by not offering a dually and/or an 8' bed

seems they are always behind the other mfg's. i can't believe they don't do any ads here for the cummins.

ford absolutely floods this market with their ads.

i am sure the marketing people are blinded by focus groups and market research gurus.

It appears good ol' D/C has dropped the ball again, no dually WTH??? . Anyways maybe in a couple of years, hopefully my '03 lasts that long !! :p

Sign me up for one ... but only if it has 100K rears and 60K front. :p

Easy boys. Lets not leave the realm of reality too soon. I have a full size dually, and I would consider the 06' for the extra space in the cab. Most folks buy the 8' bed and carry groceries home in the bed once in a while. I also would like to see a full size bed, but R&D is not cheap. Stand by, your ship will be along... ...

Do Not like the look of the front - starting to look like the Durango - if the design goes more 'Euro' - my next truck would be a F... - I cant say the F word... . All in all a shame since I have been in Mopars since - well lets just say - since leaded premium 100+ octane gas and PCV was the only emission control. . :D

Not having a crew cab dually will limit the Ram big time in the market. But, the Ram has had that limit for a long time now. At least they have a four door option with a SB. Not having a full bed means giving up many possible commercial fleet sales. Dodge is not shooting at that market. Thats a shame too, a Dodge Crew Cab Long Bed could become a great seller with so many Ford owners upset with the 6. 0.

Why did they make it so cheap looking pics of inside show fake wood and aluminum dash panels my opinion pick one or the other for the whole thing. Don't make a HD truck look like your small pickup it's a complete letdown. I guess they just saved me money because i will not have one. Now for more bombs on my 04. 5 instead.

Everbody needs to consider the "Staggered-time marketing" idea (or whatever it is called)

The hemi was not even in a 1500 at first

But then It was because the HD hemis sold so good

I think the Dually Mega cab will became a reality

Well if we are going to "want" lets make the long bed and dually only available in a 4500/5500 config with a 8. 3 and not worry about the turning radius cus we will be pulling 2 Fords behind it by then

Hi guys,

I have an acquaintance who is a DC rep on the east coast, and he tells me the 2006. 5 mega cab will be available in long bed and dually. Probably in 2nd qtr of 2006. This was a quick effort to get this out in time for the auto show, to plant the seed that dodge will be offering a larger cab. Apparently they did not have the time (he admits poor thinking on their part) to get more than one model designed prior to the show. Apparently thier E&D department is working on other things as well like Mercedes, Jeep Liberty diesels, etc. Anyway, just a seed here for thought. Who knows if he's leading me along or not, but what can I say. I contacted him mid week, and this is the info he emailed back.

Have a good weekend all!!

That's my main gripe about it (and the rest of the '06's I'm sure)! :{

I think that if they sell enough of them that you just might see a 8' bed in a couple of years. Perhaps on a 4500/5500 platform? Oo.
