Okay, please pipe in if you have changed your turbo on your 05 (electric wastegate turbo), and are using a boost fooler.

If you are not getting the 0299's, please advise your set up.

I have upgraded recently to a larger turbo, and get the dreaded 0299's everyday. Can't figure this one out.

Thanks

YOu know I am in that boat. . I have beatched about it right here in TDR>

Per another post, Evan Beck responds:

It does not read boost. Its only a controller.

Leave the solenoid plugged in, tape up the end on it, and use a couple cable ties to secure it out of the way. Done this on a bunch of trucks we've done turbo upgrades on, with no codes or check engine lights.

I wonder if he is referring to 05's. Its worth a shot, and I'll try anything at this point.

Bill, what size turbo and what year truck do you have?

DOesn't my sig show??? I see it above... ... I have a 2005 with a EDGE ballbearing turbo. .

This is more of an 05 problem than an 04. 5 problem...

;) What's a signature?

Brian at BD responded to me tonight with the following:

Sometimes if the mechanical wastegate creeps open to soon you will set this code. Check the wastegate. The PCm has a predefined map of boost versus load, if it sees this deviate a lot it throws this code.

I am going to check my wastegate setting tomorrow. I can't live with a truck that posts 0299's all the time, its getting to be a real pain to drive it now.

Maybe the sps 64 is a better choice for the 05?
