Hi, its already hit 98 degrees here so the ac is getting a workout. However, it doesnt work very well, by the time I get home from work I'm barely cooled off. On a long drive it does okay, but I can't freeze you out of the truck.

I'm wondering if I should have the dealer take a look at it or is this somewhat normal for these trucks.

My 03 is very cold and blows hard. Better than my 98, seems to move more air faster. It will freeze even me and I like it frosty.

With that said, it took the dealer to get it that way. They said it was out of balance or something. After it was worked on, the air flow increased from the dash vents. It blows harder than my 98 which I still have and can do a side by side comparison with. :)

AC

I noticed the same thing on mine as well. I am taking my vehicle in for the freeze plug recall on Monday and will have that checked as well. Just out of curiosity, are any of your running a 2004 AFE 7 arifilter? I have heard that it will mess with your ac line.

Just the drop in here.

Just returned to Cal with my new truck from Idaho. We to are having a hot spell and the AC got so cold I had to turn it down. Sounds like you need the freon (or whatever they use these days) checked.

Mine was not getting cold and would heat up when at a stop light. I took it to my friends ac shop and it had a low charge. He toped it off and it is freezing me out.

does anyone have this? TSB # 18-003-04 My ac doesnt' work very well, dealer says it's ok. Would like to read the above TSB. Thanks. John

My ac is very cold but the truck warms easily inside. I had the windows tinted to help keep out some of the summer sun and now it is perfect. I run the air on high for maybe 2 or 3 minutes when I first start up and then put it on the first setting and it is very comfortable, my wife thinks that it is cold still. In the summer down here in Texas a cold day is when it is below 90 degrees.

Well it was 104 yesterday. Took at least 30 minutes running down the road with the ac on high recirc to feel comfortable. I realize 104 is pretty hot but it takes quite a while to get cool in 80 - 90 degree temps also. John

After reading the comments about the A/C, I had mine checked today whie they were doing the 600 Rapid Response thing. They said that the freon level was not up to spec, and serviced it under warranty. Bring on the heat :)

No problems with the 600 Rapid Response test either.

I was told by dc that they were aware that trucks were being shipped with low freon levels. If it doesn't get cold its low.
