I am new to TDR and don't know the rules yet so please bear with me.

I have a 99 2500 with a Predator stage 2 and a BD exhaust brake.

Great truck-but.

When it is cold everything is great, after it gets warm it accelerates poorly (very) after a stop. I pull a 30' 5th wheel and it can be scary.

What is weird is that if I pull up to a stop, turn the truck off then re-start immediately it accelerates fine. I am baffled and could sure use some help...

Sounds like your automatic trans isn't shifting down into first gear when you come to a stop. It's an electronic thing, either your PCM or one of the solenoids in the trans. This assumes you have an automatic trans.

And Welcome to the TDR!

Turn the key on-off, on-off, on and look at the milage area. If there are any codes, this is where they will show up. There is a code liston this site. This is where I would start.

My work truck is an 01 3500 cab chassis at we had similar problems. It was almost dead pedal, but still had small amount of acceleration. You don't want to know what our fix was. Good luck.

PS ~ Our fix was a new VP44(injection pump) and in-tank lift pump.

Thanks for the reponse.

It is an auto, I will try manually dropping it to low when I stop ( think that will work ???). Also no codes with the on off - on off. Really don't want it to be the VP44
