Dan:

Here is where I'm at. I have a 92 that used to be a 159" wheelbase Cab & Chassis. I converted it over to a pickup to save about $1000 a year on insurance. I had to remove 28" from the frame between the cab and rear axle so that definetely messed things up further.

My truck has 11 leaf springs in the back (rediculous). I just went and had the bed filled with topsoil and the truck settled a whole inch and a half. I know it is way oversprung. I am going to have the rears modified to a five leaf config with a single large overload spring UNDERNEATH instead of on top like the new Chevys and Fords have. That should do a world of good for the ride.

The 1st Gen Dodges are pretty notorious for the front springs "taking a set", and eventually going "negative arch"

In fact, mine has done it. I also have another 300 lbs of weight on the front that is normally not there, but even my brothers 92 did it before he added his bigger bumper/winch/brushguard.

In my case the ride is a bit rough. The RS9000's helped a bit, and when I put my 8' 6" slide in camper on the truck rides dead flat, and much nicer. In fact, it's comfortable to ride in with some weight.

I found a shop by my house that can order Skyjacker soft rides. I went there but the parts info on the computer says "except Cummins" on all the applications for a 93 4X4 front leaf set. I want a Stock height or minimum lift set for the front . It's really hard to find accsesories for these first gens. If anyone has these on there first gen 4X4 . Could you help me out with a part # I would really appreciate it... ... Chuck

All of them have been a little discouraged with the load carring it they tow a heavy gooseneck trailer or slide in campers.

I did the same thing, thinking that by useing a 6" over spring I could get rid of the 6" block and reduce the axle wrap. The problem is the 6" springs are longer and when you put weight on the rear the extra length of the spring will cause them to bottom out on the shakles and the soft ride springs now have a infinate spring rate. That is untill they bend or break. I still have the scars on the shakle mounts to prove it. I went to National Spring and ordered the rear set . I would not reccomand any arched spring over a 2" lift. IMHO
