Hello all. Since I've been visiting this site I've noticed that the modifications for these trucks are almost limitless. So here's the question:

You have an '02 quad, auto, 4x4, 4. 10's. You also have around $1500 burning a hole in your pocket. What do you buy???

Hint: Truck isn't subjected to hauling heavy loads or towing.

Thanks.

Without a question get gage's pyro, trans temp, fuel pressure at least this is where I would start . I went with pyro, trans temp and boost on the a pillar put the fuel pressure Gage on the steering pod works out well for me. The stock auto limits you if you get a comp and don't tap the wire then you can hook it up later if you like... George

Uh Oh - sounds like another "my stick is better than your hopped up automatic" in the works. "Whatever rocks your socks" is MHO.

As far as the original question our Comrade had regarding the hot pocket he has, I can relate. I also agree with the majority of folks replying and add my $. 02 - gages, gages, gages 1st and foremost. If you can't tell what's going on you won't know until it's way too late and then you'll need 3 - 4 times the amount burning a hole.

I got everything to do the gage install from Geno's: Autometer tri-pod "A" pillar mount, the following Westach gages (just my flavor): 0-15# Fuel, Temp gage (used for trans w/sender for DD Mag pan), Dual EGT & Boost and DD pan mentioned earlier. This set my pocket back about $700. That would leave you $800 to save for weak link mods (Auto Trans) before engines Bombs. Only dealer item needed was the paint to color the pillar mount to match the interior.

Thanks for the advice, I'm going for the guages for sure. Especially since I've had the lift pump/ injector pump combo done already:( As for the trans, I'll stick with the "slush box". With the traffic I have to deal with, I'd look funny with a giant left leg. Can anyone give me a ballpark on the auto trans mod? Thanks again for taking the time to offer your opinions.

BTW Joe, I'm up in the Allentown area... not that it means anything, just in the "neighborhood".
