Try running Ad-aware by Lavasoft. This program will clean your computer of most of the spyware (new versions always come out).

I have a program called Popup Killer that works great and was freeware, but the writer has given up as of march this year, due to continiual problem with interfacing with the latest version of internet exploder, which I do not use, I use an older version

looks like the Microcrap coders have done it again

Ad-Aware is great but does not stop pop ups, it just removes spyware and ad site cookies

I would add my vote to adsubtract pro. It takes care of cookies as well as pop ups.

Whitmore I thought all that gas you breathed in that sewage plant you worked in was making you strange, unusual, odd, different, cut below, missing something, etc but now your complaining about them pop up windows:D I am almost afraid:confused: to ask Whats next?

Whitmore,

2 things you can try.

1) Download the lastest version of mozilla 1. 2. 1 from mozilla.org. It has a built-in pop-up killer. Works great. This is what I am using right now. It also has e-mail so you can get away from Outlook and its many and continuing vulnerabilities. FYI. . This is nearly identical to Netscape Navigator 7. 0 except 7. 0 does not have the pop-up killer because it is owned by AOL.

2) Download CookieCop from pcmag.com. I used this for a long time before I had to downgrade to WinXP Home from Win98 so I could run my satellite network connection. CookieCop blocks cookies, pop-ups and other nasties and its free.

pop ups..

You can try one of the downloadable products mentioned by others, or you can take the following actions:

1) stay away from the girlie sites. Pop-ups will be the least of your problems if you hang out there too long.

2) Change your browsers settings. If you have IE, just uncheck the box near some of the Java stuff, like virtual machine and all that junk. Most of that stuff you don't need (typical MS junk) and it will speed up your machine.

Also, go delete all your cookies and clear your caches.

This might get rid of all them nasties...
