The clutch in my 04. 5 pops audibly when you depress it about half the time. I have tried to see what it is but I can't figure it out. I have tried to vary my left foot technique but to no avail. Anybody else experience this and if so what to do, it's annoying.

You might be hearing the clutch interlock safety switch clicking when you depress the pedal. I can usually hear mine. Also, if you depress the pedal far enough it will contact the stop on the back side, which might sound like a "popping" noise. Do you have standard pedals, or adjustable ones?

My pedals are adjustable. The click occurs when the pedal is first pressed, just about an inch down, I have no noise when it is fully depressed.

I don't know about the switch deal. I have non adjustable pedals and I get it too. I occasionaly get it from the first day. My driveway is real tight with high walls and I (not realising what I was doing) presed the clutch with the door open and I heard it real good from outside. It sounds like a snap rather than a pop. I think it's a slave cylinder lining up to the clutch fork kind issue.

Mine doesn't make any noise from outside the vehicle, but I do get a "click" inside from the pedal when I depress it. I thought that might be what Thacker was hearing.

I've been thinking about this and what I read in a past TDR about these vehicles and that they are indeed TRUCKS. I have owned about 6 stick mopars, cars and trucks, and they ALL made some sort of noise in the clutch linkage. I will monitor with caution, unless a TSB or hypothesis surfaces.

I have less than 1,000 miles on mine and my clutch is popping as well. I can feel it about half the time and hear it if I shut the engine down. Its within the first couple inches of travel. My pedals are adjustable. I am going to take it into the dealer tomorrow and have them look at it. I will let you know what it is.

My 04. 5 has 6k miles on it and the clutch pops occasionally. It originally started a while back but then went away. It's now back but doesn't pop all the time. I can actually feel it when it does pop. Larv

Truck is at the dealer. The popping was from the clutch master cylinder and they have to replace it. Suppose to be done in a couple hours.
