Off Roading "Off Road Package"?

Competition Yee-ha!! 299hp uncorrected!

On the way home from work today I had one of those races that you feel to need to share, it was great! I was on a 20 mile two lane highway out by Firebird raceway and I saw a new 996 Porsche coming up behind me. I was doing about 75, so I figure he was doing about 85. There was a car in front of me so I quickly went around him and the guy in the Porsche had to slow down.

This made him mad to he steps on it and trys to leave me, I set my box to 5X5 and he could not get around me, now he is really mad. We both slowed down to about 80, he then tried to show be how fast his Porsche was again. He takes off first, I reel him back in and at about 115mph I let off. He comes up next to me, I roll my windows down and he won't even look at me, he must be wondering why his new $75,000 car can't out run a big Dodge on 35" tires. :{

I slowed down and he wants to run again. He was in the left lane, I was in the right doing about 75mph. He takes off first and has me by a bumper for about 1 second. This time I had to rub it in, so I stuck my hand out the window and waved bye, bye and smiled. We ran to about 120mph and I had him by about 2. 5 lengths. I had moved over to his lane and I saw a patrol car up ahead so I hit the brakes. He thinks I am messing with him so he swerves over to the other lane and blows my me and the cop. Needless to say, I kept going on home and he got to chat with the officer. It was priceless. :D

This guy would not give me a smile or a thumbs up. He was upset and would not even look at me. Which is why I didn't mine him getting pulled over. Oo.

No doubt sitting up high in your tall truck gave you the visual advantage to see the law enforcement officer ahead, thus icing your cake, so to speak. :D

Both your *****es should be in jail. How many people did you put in risk? At least one that you mentioned!

What you are bragging about is a felony!

Grow up!

Lets see, he left you at 80 and you caught him at 115... . think he could of backed off for ya to catch him? :rolleyes:

Just wondering what speed rating your 35" tires are? :confused:

Just a little factoid: Base Model 996: 0-60 @ 5. 3sec / top end 153mph

Oh. . and I have a bridge for sale..... any takers?

[Everytime you get in a car/truck your at risk. Get over it. ] Yes! Just getting outta bed is a risk. ;o} ... its how you manage those risk that's important.

Now, back to my vitamins! :D

Donn, just curious what you're implying. With the right boxes stacked and turbo/mods to go with it a CTD could very well hang with a 996 between 70-110mph. FASTDSL's story is believable. The quarter mile times I've seen are mid-upper 12s for a 2005 996. A 14 second Cummins should hang with a mid 12s Porsche between 70-110. A light powerful gasser can launch a lot faster which gives the quick 0-60 and quarter mile times.

After seeing Fletcher's 12-valve edge out a big-block 11-second Vega at the track, you tend to believe a Cummins can tease some of the fastest gassers out there :cool:

Well I guess you can believe it if you want, but I just don't see many CTD that will even begin to run with a porsche in any kind of a High Speed test. But next time I go to the drag strip or to any of the professional races where it is legal to do that kind of stuff I'll keep my eyes open for the mighty CTD. Meanwhile I hope I don't run in to any of those type of people who are willing to act that foolish and brag about it on a site like this one. Centrum Silver or not, stupidity doesn't pay and it is only a matter of time before some one will get hurt or worse. I reccomend if you want to show just how mighty your CTD is go pay the entrance fee and send us the real results.
