porting.. Need advice.

Hey... I am getting some stuff ported and was wondering what was up with the divider in the exhaust manifold/turbo. Does it have any real purpose. It seems to me that if it was eliminated everything would flow smother/more evenly. Just wanted your thoughts on it. Thanks

I would leave the divider in, I think it reduces the turbulence
