As I already own a catcher I have been looking into different fuel only boxes to stack with my catcher to make simular adjustible power like the edge comp/drag boxes.

from what I have heard/seen tst is jerky or hard to throttle smoothly with the foot.

jvd is little used not as jerky but not as adjustible= crazy wire tap swicharound, as tst with remote.

so my favorite choice is blue chip APB should be smooth with easy incab knob/dial adjustment.

any APB/Catcher users out there want to comment on this?

better yet any comp/catcher special users out there want to comment?

any Tst owners want to have a say?

the MAD/catcher thread is closed and is too long to dig through anyway so I started this.

I do know that the catcher as a stand alone box is good with smaller sticks and is working for too many to tell.

I think Darkhorse has the APB box. Maybe shoot him a PM?

Who sez that? Actually I'm running the CaTCHER with Don's six stix. Great...

Why only smaller sticks? That one I don't get.

I say, than taller the sticks, than better the CaTCHER does his job.

That's if you can get used to the throttle response.

sorry! just meant that lots of people are towing big loads/campers what not without problems. why is everyone so touchy about the catcher?

and yes the double time throttle pedal is the one thing I don't like. After I get used to it I take the ecm back off and wonder why I ever racked my nerves the way I did.

I have the Catcher, TST PM3 w/remote and it works great to me. I had installed the PM3 first and the Catcher made a bigger difference in power to me. I will be putting in a PDR HX40 w/4 inch exhaust this weekend and hopefully, my Mach 1. 6 injectors the weekend after. I tow a lot, otherwise I would have gone with bigger injectors, maybe a 4. If I ever get another CTD, I will just buy a Catcher and injectors and no fueling box. Even with the PM3 turned off and the stock injectors, the power is really good.

OK, for the Dumb and Dumber-What is a Catcher?

The CaTCHER or some times called the MAD ECM is a fueling program that is "flashed" into your ECM. The over all power out put is similar to an Edge EZ but it has markedly more rapid throttle response.

The CaTCHER & the Blue Chip APB play very well together. One will get the smoothest power delivery with bigger sticks but the APB comes on in a civilized manner with a fairly aggressive curve like a Comp on one of the higher sub levels.

Like ONE of the many levels of a comp

sorry had to emphasize this a little

Yes the Blue Chip has one less adjustable parameter than a Comp. It also provides no timing changes. but it costs lots less. I like it that way. When it comes to smoke, I only have to use my foot for control. When it comes to timing, I have my CaTCHER.

not to knock a great acomplishment 556 should be justified and is not much with a cam twins and m6s

Afarmer has made 600 with no cam just comp/m6s and dzilla/b2 twins

we all know the story

"even though the MAD shows less or same top-end on the dyno it was made for drivabillity and low-end gains"

Rivercat - Not sure if you read it wrong or just mixed up your numbers, but it was ... ... ... . 656... ... ..... not 556. If you mean JoeFarmer ( Brandon ), if I am not mistaken he was running a Diesel Dynamics cam. Nevertheless though I gained 71 hp over my last dyno with the addition of the MAD and TST box.
