Friend of mine with an 03 has an odd problem. .

The reflector is discolored in and around the area where the bulb goes through, looks like overheating due to running both filiments at the same time.

Anyone else see this?

Make sure the if goes used they come with warranty returns, those adjustment mechanisms break easily. No trouble with mine, been running the BB for 2 years.

Update

I edited my post above on the aiming trouble, we were having trouble with the aimer and not the truck. The discoloration of the reflector can't be good though.

I have been through three sets and they all failed. I am a electronic engineer and redesigned and built my own set. Not a problem. No check lamp out light or a bulb in a box.

Bright Idea

I have used a bright box since 2005 and had to replace one of my units after 3 months. The lights would go on and off intermittently. The replacement unit has worked as advertised. No discoloring of the reflector, etc. I have also mounted a set of aux driving lights that are wired throught the brights with their own rocker switch. My fogs are also wired so that they stay on as long as there is power to either the high or low beam. With this set up I can switch on the driving lights, fog lights, and both the high and low beams. When I switch to low beam I have the low beam and fogs on. This set up is not legal in Michigan but works well, I will take my chances with law enforcement.

Another thing thats started is the right side box buzzes intermittently and when thats happening the right lamp will flicker.

To see the discoloration I am talking about you need the lamp off and then shine a flash light at the base of the bulb area.

These have been in use now for 4 years.
