I'm impressed with all the functionality but I ran into what seems to be a problem

The "Highest Boost" reading doesn't seem to be working correctly. I hit 24+ lbs of boost but the highest boost recorded lags way behind, never recording more than 18.

I called tech support and got an answer that was hard to understand. Something about averaging.

I know the pyro side works exactly as I expected... always picks up the highest egt and holds it, dynamically but the boost side seems wrong. I guess it would help if the booklet had a couple more pages to it.

Anybody notice the same thing?

Mine does the same, unless I hold at High Boost for a few seconds, it doesn't record. On Extreme I have seen indicated 46  PSI, but High Boost indicated 28, on Performance with the EZ on 2, and I drive Easy, I see peak boost of 26-28, but high records only 18-20. I just quit looking.

Also, keep in mind that the EZ's increased Rail Pressure shown on the attitude is wrong, because the Outlook is looking at the EZ's output, not the input. I sure wish I knew if the EZ had smarts to limit itself to safe pressures a I have seen 24500PSI on the Outlook with the EZ when I get on it, and it really moves, I just hope the rail pressure was only 24500 and not any higher.

This can get out of hand real quick if you let it... ... I was showing off the Insane Mode and though I though I had the EZ on 1 ( it was on 3), I had my friend and boss (same) in the truck, stepped on it in 3rd, broke the wheels loose, did an in place brodie with the front end almost planted, and put up an unbelievable cloud of tire smoke from the dualies... ... . yeah baby, this is going to be expensive!

The monitor has its glitches. For example, it recorded a 3927 degree pyro reading :-laf .

Also is the ICP thing rail pressure? If so, I have hit over 27000 many times

Also if you got an EZ stacked, don't expect the boost numbers on the outlook to be accurate.

So we got all these vendors pushing product and people coming on after using them and nobody standing up and bringing these what I see as VERY important issues. Display readings that are not what you would expect them to be and NO explanation in the documentation.

Do the numbers displayed mean anything? Are they accurate?

At least can I trust the pyro reading?

After calling customer service the feeling I got was instead of just saying that function simply has an issue, he made up something about having High Boost screen on the same time as the Boost screen causes it to work differently that the Pyro/ High Pyro.

Im a bit disappointed to say the least and right now don't trust this unit.

Don't come on here selling a product that doesn't work as advertised and has a product support team that gives me the runaround. This is basic functionality that simply doesn't work.

I got a 30 day money back that I may take advantage of if they don't have something good to tell me before than.

I recommend anyone thinking about one to call BullyDog and ask about the high boost display. I like that feature and use it. That and the Pyro/High Pyro are the most important functions I feel I paid for. I had an SPA dual guage that had it and always wanted to know my peak boost. But with the SPA you had to hit the button to get the data. This Bullydog Monitor is supposed to display it real time.

YoHoot - I see what you mean, I cleared the high, ( push button to right)held 20PSI constant for almost 2 minutes on a little hill while watching the High Boost and Boost, the High Boost was always lower and never equalled 20, only 14 or so.

As for the ICP, common rail pressure, I have seen higher without the EZ, I just don't know what the actual EZ fooled max pressure is, I don't want it popping the valve ever.

... and, I said attitude in my previous post, svereal times, I meant Outlook, must be a Fordian Slip.

DIESELMAN,

Do me a favor. Give tech service a call and see if they try and convince you that it's doing the right thing. That's what I kinda gathered from their explanation. I don't buy it.

Also I was told they have a newer tune for my 04 auto. I was wondering why mine on extreme did not even feel like there was anything extra at all from zero to about 1/3 - 1/2 throtte. I get no smoke whatsoever anytime.

Hoot, I don't know why they would give you the run around, but I give you my word that I won't. I'll call Monday and see what they tell me. I'll gladly relay the info to anyone willing to call me. I'll have an answer for you Tuesday, call me on my cell (I probably won't be able to post until later in the week, so just call). Also, Hoot if your not happy then by all means use that 30 day guarantee. I hate to see anybody mis-treated. Give me a call and I'll be happy to do anything I can.

Sorry I haven't posted sooner, I've been out of town. Just got home about an Hour ago.

Later,

Wes
