John,how about meeting at the truckstop just off of I-70. This seems like an ideal place to start a convoy. Just think it would be cool to see 15-20 plus C. T. D. Rams heading down the highway . Can't remember the name of the truckstop(a little help someone). Doug

Frederick truck stop is history.

I'm not sure what they're building now, but the truck stop is gone.



If your going south on I270, maybe the FSK mall (MD85 & I-270) near Sears would work as a meeting place. There is also a hotel (Comfort Inn?) at the same exit. Closer and right at the south bound entrance to 270 if that's the way your going.

Frederick Truck Stop

Tmacc is correct. The truck stop is "toast". The FSK Mall by Sears would probably be a good place to meet. Probably around 8AM if we want to get to Glen Burnie in time to find a place to park our rides. Love to get some more comments on this suggestion.

Ken; That's a good idea. Those of us coming from the north, west and south of Frederick could initially meet at the FSK Mall and then stop at the Park and Ride on our travels east from Frederick. Look like plan is begining to form.

Viv and I would enjoy having dinner. We pretty much like everything. There is a restaurant down the road just off of 695 called G & M. Has really great crab cake at reasonable price. Other food looked good too.



Anyone have any other ideas?

My business partner lives in that area. I'll get some suggestion from him. He usually eats at a place called Mama Lucia's, but there are probably some good crab houses in the area if you folks like that kind of stuff.

Right across from Cummins Power Systems, there is a seafood place called Gunnings. It is good and is worth dropping into if you like seafood.

Dinner options.

There are several options close to Cummins. As Russel suggested, there is Gunnings. Mama Lucia's is another. There is a place call Timbuktu that is an option also. My partner suggested these three for starters. They are all w/i 2-3 miles of Cummins. If we get an idea of how many are interested in going to dinner, I'll make some calls to see about reservations.

This is for any of the guys comming from Frederick. Earlier in this thread I mentioned the I70 and rt 32 park and ride. That place is really tight. And last weekend, when I drove past it, all of the parking spots were filled. What I would rather do is wait at the entrance ramp from 32 (mile marker 80)have CB on and wait for you to pass. I think all those CTD's driving together would be an awsome sight.

Since I'm one exit west of there, I could hook up w/ you to wait on the parade. Now, If those guys would take it out of "Warpdrive" when they go by, we might be able to catch them before the Marriotsville exit. LOL
