At the end of last winter, I had the dealer enable the cold weather engine modification for warm-up since I could not plug the truck in at work. Of course the outside temperatures warmed and I never had the modification activate. In the fall with the onset of cold weather, I realized the modification was not working (probably was cold enough before, but I figured the dealer could not possibly be wrong). I returned to the same dealer (different service writer) and he said he had never heard of the cold weather modification and I would be paying for a diagnostic check. Long story short, they finally enabled the modification. (had to show them the info from TDR and TSB - then had to conference with the service manager)

After enabling the cold weather modification, I now have an intermittent check engine light. The code that is set is P0122 which is a fault code (I'm told by 2 different dealers) for a low voltage TPS problem. Also, the cold weather modification still seems to have problems. It will only activate if the truck is sitting more than 12 to 14 hours in middle to lower 20's - even if the water temp shows below 140 degrees and it nevers warms past this point. I figured that it was the block holding heat, but now I wonder if the 2 are related?????
