I'm jumpin on the Band wagon! or should I say Power Wagon. My new 01 is not yet 2 months old & I've already ticked off 8,600 Miles. Nice Truck,Great Ride, Paint is fair, built South of the Border, but what the Hey, My old PSD was built North of the Border. Oil is showing good wear in & I am getting about 18-19. 5 mpg already. So why you may ask did I buy a RAM. Go to Ford-Diesel.com & do a search on Cackle & injector cost, then you'll know why I chose the RAM. Anyway I'm having fun with this truck & have to go to work now to pay for it.

I worked for ford for a number of years and I can tell you a few things about ford's customer satisfaction (verry good because it HAS to be) D/C is very strict on cummins and expects stringent guidelines so that is why warrantee items are hit or miss, but Fixed Right the first go arround in most cases.

After owning nothing but Fords for 30 years, cackle and idle knock and Ford's attitude caused me to trade my 2000 F250 PSD for my 01 ETH/DEE SB 4x4 Dodge.

I am very pleased. Glad I did it.

I'm right in there with Wiley and Cully, a former PSD owner. I love my new RAM, my PSD was just a big pain in my rear from day one. All I can say is I hope the guy who ends up with my old 2000 PSD does a search on the waranty worked performed on it. He'll end up with a stack of paperwork and re-think his purchase. Buyer beware.

Ive done some ford bashing on here because my best friend had '99 psd, and it quit on him numerous times, in bad places. He returned it using the lemon law. It did not have the cackle problem though. I did like his mirrors, and the brakes were pretty strong. My 2500 6sp seemed to be at least as tough, or tougher looking underneath than his 3500.

I was curious of the problems your trucks had. Were these mostly cackle & service dept related, or did they have other problems. Interested in your opinions good & bad. How do they stack up w/ your dodges.

I am extremely happy with my dodge, and havent had the problems others have been describing (knock on wood).

Glad to hear you now have a real Power Wagon. I got mine yesterday, 150 miles on it as of tonight. I love my truck. I have a 5 speed with 3. 54 LSD.

Do you have the LSD? I think you do not, because your fuel economy is so good. I want to make as many mods to mine as possible to get the best mileage and I have a theory about LSD and mileage...
