I believe when you edited a post before it added to your post count. Apparently editing your post isn't counting anymore. :)

The post count is fixed as best I can now. Here's the story, after the import of all the old archived threads I had to rebuild the index (that took 28 hours, btw) then update the counters. There was a bug in the admin software that didn't count all of the posts that you had. I've fixed that bug in the software and now the number reads accurately with how many posts you currently have on the system. For example illflem now has 5192 posts listed and ToolManTimTaylor is now back to 1102 posts. It now shows the same number of posts that it will if you did a search on your name.

However, for members that were around during those archived days you will have lost some post counts (like illflem). The reason for that is that the user post count didn't not go down when those archived posts were pruned from the site so those posts were still in your count. When those posts were imported there was no practical way to link up the old posts with the current usernames so I had to import them all as Archive. Because I then had to update the post counters those posts are no longer in your count.

Sorry for the inconvenience but it's the best I could do to get the old data back.

Seemed to take forever to get over 900, now I'm back to 725. Didn't lose as many as some of you guys did though!:(

I could comment on that David, but my good taste and sense of responsabilty will not allow ;)

Somehow, the others loss was my gain, now I'm in the #5 slot of the TOP TEN :p :D

Ya, but what about us REALLY OLD members...

the ones that dated all the way back to the VERY FIRST DAY of the TDR...

and before that, the very first day of the CDW website (Jan. 14th, 1999)!!!! For those of you newer members, the TDR BB was born out of the CDW BB (Cummins Diesel Website... started by Rob Spading). I was there, illflem wasn't even around for most of the TDRs first year (let alone ANY of the CDW days). And if that weren't enough, there were a great many of us Dodge/Cummins enthusiasts that hung out on the Happy Campers BB before that.

I lost AT LEAST 1369 posts!

EDIT: I edited this post so as not to reflect any trivial whining about lost posts.

:) :) :) :)

How's the MIL, Scott?

David, the MIL is the same, no need for further comment ;) . I've been quite busy lately, building that mother/daughter apt. for her in my shed. I got the hole cut in the floor for her waste needs, now I need to find a cheap hotplate for her to cook on and she will be set :D

TDR Admin! Please let me help...

If it only requires matching Member ID numbers to correlate archived posts to our current members, then let me give it a shot! Matching all 12,000 isn't reasonable or necessary but if we could match the top 200 posters that would at least get the ones of most significance. Those below the top 200 have just over 300 posts and therefore not likely to have very many in the archives.

I agree with John, it sucks being a long-time member and being affected the most by these server problems and imports. I do appreciate the fact you guys have worked hard and have brought them back, and have worked hard to get us on a new server. But the fact some of us have been here a long time and have suffered through several server moves makes this one a little harder to take :(

I was over 2400 posts, counting what was lost in the First Big Server Crash of October 1999 which ate up my account (I am an August 1999 not OCTOBER 1999 member). I have lost 50% of nearly 3 years' worth of posting :( :( :(

If there is ANY possible way I can help, PLEASE PM me.
