A friend on LI has a cesspool business, and he got a contract to take care of flood water in a local shopping center. He had a few centrifugal pumps he would use to pump flooded catch basins after a heavy rain. In the shopping center was a Waldbaum's super market and a Chinese restaurant. One day, while watching the pumps, Waldbaums discarded their expired produce, and what do you know, an employee (or owner?) of the Chinese restaurant made a bee line to the dumpster and retrieved it for use. What you don't know won't hurt you, I suppose.

In California in some areas domestic pets were being lost, strayed or whatever, at that time there were Asian refuges residing in the area, on the beach people found small bones in barbeque waste, turns out the bones were from domestic pets. To try and stop the petnapping, California passed a law outlawing eating domestic pets, the law was struck down as being Racist. Around about that time when Mustangs were being round up because of overpopulation, the French offered to buy them for slaughter for human consumption, horse lovers were outraged and the deal fell through. I did not read of outrage by the French regarding a Racist decision.
