Truck runs nice and smooth since I put the new SO pump on my HO engine. Its just that it seems down on power a lot more than I thought it would. My mileage has dropped a bit too, I think mostly cause I gotta keep my foot in it more to maintain speed or accelerate to the speed I want. My peak boost has also dropped from 21lbs. to 19lbs. Max egt never gets higher than 900-950 if I really lugg it on a hill. Old pump used to hit 1000. Is this normal? Should my egt's get this high? And how much power do you loose when converting to the SO? I used to short shift at about 1500rpms around town, now it seems to like going up to 2000 a lot better. Just seems like it takes forever to accelerate up to 65mph. If non of this is normal, then I wonder if I've got a leak at the intercooler. I figured since my boost was close to factory spec, there weren't any leaks.

To me it sounds normal, you have smaller injectors with a amaller pump. If you need more power just get a smarty or a box because your EGT's have plenty of room for more fuel.

Call East Coast Diesel. They'll probly let you try a smarty. They would also have an idea if anything else is wrong.

Hmm. I've got the SO pump too, just got it in the last couple of weeks. The flash I got on my box gets me up to 27 pounds, EGT's I haven't been able to get above 1000, even lugging with load up hills. Supposed max revs with this flash - 3600. Maybe you want to check to see if someone can re-flash you, or maybe that smarty will do it for you... .
