Here's our normal beach camp site, just a few miles west of the famed Hamptons.
Where they pay $1,000's a night to rent a house on the beach,
we pay $15 a night,, just gotta tow my house with me using my 99'2500 4x4 QC ISB. .

Click on this link to see more of the outer beach we camp on, these photos were taken
the last year we camped in our old popup. . http://www.tdr4x4.com/dt/

Reason we bought the TD Ram, was to get the new camper.

Looks great bobk! Clicked on your link; looks like a fantastic spot! How the 'eck do you keep such a great place hidden from swarms of humanity?!

But I had to say you are very very cruel. It's ice storming soon to be snow storming outside... . and I've already got the fever so bad it hurts (spring fever that is).

Mark . .
thanks, it was a nice hidden jewel of LI for many good years, but the last five... ugh. . it's gotten to be a mad house. I've been going there for over 20 years. Back when tent camping on the beach was allowed! Now you have to have a house to drag out to be legal. This past tuesday we got 16" of snow... and my snow blower was throwing the snow onto the camper. The good new is we have some trips planned already.

Most of the camp sites on LI are already booked for all the weekends. The outer beach doesn't take reservations, 1st come ,1st enjoy. So with the promise of a good weekend you show up on thursday night to get your 4day permit and drag the camper out to get a spot.

Now with the popularity of SUV's and "newbeess" that learned how to use the 4x4 selector but not air down, the weekends usually turn into a mess. I'm very afriad that the extreme popularity of the outer beach and the abuse by the mass crowds that just don't care and figure the rules aren't for them, we'll lose it. It's been close many times.

and here's the ugliest thing I tow...

Here's first picture of new rig. Pulled it home from the dealer today (about 50miles). Crossed Tiger Mountain (1800ft) in 4th at 45. Rig weighs 12000 empty and had 100gals of water in the tank. BTW, I had to slow to 35 half way up the grade to follow a big rig through construction. Want to try it without the 18wheel pilot car.
