Tool Pool?

Slow site tonight?

Some folks post pics and if you look at the properties on them there wat too big in bytes, so why can I not post a pic that I get down to 30K (which losses all the quality) and can't get the physical size down lower than 360/520 which get kicked back, I guess I missed this lesson in school. Could you give me some advise!

Jim

P. S. I'm using arc soft photo impression!

You can put pictures up to 100,000 bytes in the readers rigs section and link to them in the forums. There's information in the FAQ on how to setup your reader's rigs album, here's the link - https://www.turbodieselregister.com/faq/index.php?act=Answer&cid=41&id=30 . Once you have the album set up just go into your album and click on the picture you want to put into your message, once the pic comes up there will be a link at the bottom of it that says "forum codes". If you click on that it will give you the exact text to put into your message so that the image will show up in it. You can either type it by hand or you can do a copy and paste to put it in your message. To do a copy and paste select the text you want to copy, right click on it and select "copy" then go to where you want to paste it, left click to put the cursor there, then right click and select "paste". Let me know if you need more help.

I can't seem to get my camera to take a picture that's anywhere near 100k. I took a shot of my A-pillar gauges and it's 140k. One reason I purchased this camera ($800) was to be able to share pictures with fellow TDR members. I guess I missed something along the way?

Sounds like you are taking 640x480 pics. Open them in some photo editor and save them with, perhaps, 25% compression. That'll significant;y reduce the file size.

Jim's not the only one who's lost. This typing of all kinds of things to post a picture is too complicated for my small brain. I guess I just thought it would be easier to copy the picture and paste it on a reply/post. Silly me.

Jim,

You sure you're not still using ARC-NET:p:p:p

you OLD fart!!!!:-laf

The pictures are first posted to the web. . the readers rigs works well.

then click the forum codes button and paste that in your post.

You sure you're not still using ARC-NET Yep the puter is 4 years old.

I maybe 37 but I act 27!

I posted the pics in the readers like Steve said then to the form, I had a free web site that turned into a non-free site so I think I'll do the hotmail expansion now to post pics, thanks for the help everyone!
