Powder coating

Hey Bob, did you know that there is a place in the valley that

does powder coating? Its Advance(d) Powder Coatings, they are

up the Parks near the Big Lake turn off. They are in the old

Gielarowski Drilling building.

Gus,

Thanks for the info, we are going to check it out!!

I'm interested in the high temp coating you were talking about Sat. I might pull my ATS manifold, exhaust brake, etc. , and coat them.

Powder coated wheels is a great thing for finish, BUT the bus industry has a big problem that involves the NTSB. You cannot powdercoat the area of the rim that contacts the brake drum or wheel hub or in duallys the mating rim.

If the powder coating is too thick or breaks down the wheels may come loose.

Powder coating aluminum alloy is a safe process with around 30 years of history. Funny thing is that I discovered powder coating around 25 year ago and very impressed with the quality & durability. Usually, as a technology matures it gets better and less expensive. Well, the process may be less expensive , but most of the prodcuts I see are of poorer quality than 25 years ago.

If anyone has questions on the wheel coating issue, please email me.
