What all is included in the "stinger plus"? Banks has so many diffrent names for the same products in diffrent packages

I found it here.

The way I see it you already have an air filter and gauges so why buy a kit that comes with them? If you want exhaust there are a dozen advertisers on the TDR that would sell you one and an Edge or TST box will give you the power you want for less money. My $. 02

Uh-oh. You said the "B" word. I'm tellin'. ;)

Just like in all things, there are people on both sides of the fence that have EXTREMELY strong opinions about Banks (don't worry. . I'm straddling the fence). From what I've picked up on these threads, the general concensus is that you can piece together all the stuff in a Banks kit for less $$$ then what they charge. This is all second-hand info, 'cause I've never looked into it.

My understanding is that it comes down to a bang-for-buck issue. Most guys on here (myself included) think that if you can get the same power for cheaper, then why not? But Banks does have some really spiffy stickers and GREAT name recognition. If you are thinking of ever selling your truck, more non-diesel people are a lot more likely to recognize "Banks" then they are "Brand XYZ".

I think they make a great product, but I would'nt buy a kit that has duplicates of stuff I already have. I also agree that you get more bang for your buck mixing and matching components from different manufacturers. I am not knocking Banks, my friend has an '02 with the full blown Banks kit, and it hauls a$$!!!

Thank you,

Banks will divide up the kit if you already have some of the items. I do agree totally, bang for the buck and if you can get the same for less, then by all means. I do ,although, like the idea/neatness of all the same... ...

Again, thanks for all the comments and thoughts!

I think the power elbow looks like a good product. They claim it drops back pressure by 60% on the CTD. If that true, I think it would eliminate alot of our exhaust temp issues.

I origionally purchased the Banks Power Plus system about 3 years ago and later added the power elbow. When I was installing the system I used the supplied mechanical fuel pressure gage that was supplied with the Banks kit to discover that I had no fuel pressure coming from my lift pump. That lift pump was replaced under warrenty at the Dodge dealer. I later added a pusher pump when that lift pump started to go. Then came the bigger set of injecters and the Dodgezilla turbo. Oh yes, did I forget the ATS stage 3 transmission(T/C, hp valve body & transmission controler) Mag high-tech transmission pan and mag high-tec diff cover, then the fuel pressure gage, TAG II, AND all of this started with the Banks kit that was supposed to make my truck pull the 5th wheel camper better. Now my wife wants to know when all of this is going to end and I can't tell her because I really don't know for sure.
