Power antenna on a 2nd gen?

Anyone install a power antenna on a second gen truck?

If so, which one did you use?



I searched the archives but found nothing. The stock location for the antenna is so close to the vertical side of the fender I'm not sure I could get one to fit.



It would be so much easier to install the truck cover with a power antenna.

I agree! Besides, the wind noise from that antenna really bothers me at cruise. It whistles so loud that my Cummins, that I have worked so hard to get the right sound out of, sounds more like a turbine engine going down the freeway. And you know about turbines, nobody can trust them!

I asked Crutchfield about this when I got my 01. They don't have anything that fits. I didn't take the splash shield off to look, but I don't think there is enough room to install one. You might be able to find on that telescopes manually. Harada is a brand name that comes to mind.
