Reference section 8W-31 of 2001 Service Manual Supplement:

I have an manual transmission truck. Looking at the technical wiring diagrams for this PDC relay, I think it is NOT required. I should NOT have a Transmission Solenoid Assembly because this module is for an automatic transmission truck. I think I can reuse this relay for another purpose. I can bypass the Transmission Control Relay to maintain the Generator Source signal to the Powertrain Control Module. Would anybody like to confirm my hypothesis?

I would like to use the relay for HID lighting control. The low beam's are activated via switching ground where the HID's are activated via switching power.

Why not just control an additional addon standard relay with the trucks normal headlight wiring (gnd switched) and use that relay to switch a hot lead for your HIDs?

I have that currently. It's a relay that was intented for my PIAA fog light's. Need to rewire. I want to reuse an unnecessary relay in the PDC.

Another "Free" Relay for "Another" Accessory...

Removed the Transmission Control Relay in the PDC. No Check Engine Light or Error Code.

Now to do some more rewiring and put my other set of projector fog light's online.

Actually there is a code set but I don't remember what it is? _Truck still runs.

Will need to connect wires for pin's 85 and 86 of Transmission Control Relay to maintain circuit to Powertrain Control Module. I can use fuse 1 in Power Distribution Center for HID light's.
